This online presentation will provide an understanding of the basic technology of ceramic production and how the innovations that have characterized the industry can aid in grouping like ceramics and placing them in time. It will introduce the participant with the following:

  • A basic understanding of what “style” is and how to identify it

  • An understanding of the technology of ceramic production (including decoration)

  • The importance of establishing a reference library and comparative collection
